Dr. Whitted attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland before attending medical school first in Munster, Germany and later also at MCO Toledo, now the University of Toledo Medical Center.
After five years of orthopedic residency in Detroit, Dr. Whitted attended fellowship training beyond residency in adult reconstruction and joint replacement, in the Chicago area.
Following a long tenure at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Whitted relocated to Toledo to join the Toledo Clinic in 2011. At that time Dr. Whitted joined the practice of a retiring orthopedic joint replacement specialist, while bringing to Toledo new techniques in small-incision surgery and outpatient total joint replacement.
Dr. Whitted’s areas of special interest are in total joint replacement of the hip, knee, and shoulder, as well as robotic partial knee replacement. In addition, Dr. Whitted is an expert in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder including rotator cuff repair, and arthroscopic surgery of the knee.
Dr. Whitted is an advocate of lifelong learning and holds an MBA degree in Healthcare Management. His most recent areas of professional interest have been in the field of regenerative medicine and stem cell therapy, and also new technologies such as customized knee replacement.
